ASPIRE COUNSELING AND WELLNESS

Seeing a need for increased services to our youth and families, Aspire Counseling & Wellness was created to provide quality care to members of our community.  Everyone has the potential to live out the best version of themselves. Yes, you! Sometimes it just takes some outside support. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Board Certified Counselor, and Certified School Counselor, I can be that support to you. 

Before private practice and counseling in the school system, I served families, children, and youth as a Family Development Specialist. I provided in-home, community, and after school services including but not limited to child, adolescent, and parenting groups, individual parent education, and child developmental screenings. I have worked with all ages--from infancy through adult. 

My specialty is working with kids and adolescents who are struggling with trauma, emotion regulation and dysregulation, peer relationships, school issues, anxiety, anger management, suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self harm, family conflict, divorce, and life transitions. I also specialize in parenting sessions where I provide information on the nervous system, emotion regulation/dysregulation, and co-regulation.

I also work with adults who have experienced trauma and are looking for EMDR therapy specifically.

I practice with an approachable, humanistic theoretical perspective, while incorporating various therapeutic techniques as needed. 

My main therapy approaches include EMDR and Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT). I am certified in both  EMDR Therapy and Synergetic Play Therapy, which means that I have advanced and ongoing training in both. I also incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Therapy, and Sandtray Therapy.

If traditional talk therapy is not for you, I also offer outdoor sessions when possible and incorporate interactive and play therapy techniques for all ages.
